The Grand Update-March

11:44 am - The Grand Update-March
Seven Kingdoms
The Emperor decides to visit Marielena again and combine it with a visit to his cousin the Duke at Faith and Freedom. He takes a small contingent with him and asks his sister Sora to watch over things with Koshain. The Emperor's mother returns from her visit to Kushkumasi and finds out that her son has gone to Valhalla. She leaves to follow him.

Quesnel, Valhalla
The Emperor pays an unexpected visit to the Gurdinan household. With the timing that all Dares seem to have, he came as Charles Robertson came to collect Tatiana and Gallio to take them to Fairhill. The Emperor took tea with the family and deftly deflected Charles' attempts to lower Marielena in his eyes. The Emperor also reminded Charles that he spent a wild youth serving on a ship along side of his mother, The Dowager Empress and Gallio's namesake and as he was told, actually benefitted from the association. His people accept his mother as a member of the royal house for all that she is an outsider. The Emperor took Marielena to dinner in the rooms that he took for this occasion.

George and Isabella

Tara
Isabella stayed up watching the rain come down. She was joined by her eldest brother George. Since their age difference was quite significant, they were not terribly close to each other. George was the one who would inheirit everything. He also was the apple of their mother's eye-along with the reckless Edward. In recent years, his health had been up and down. Of more importance, he had not struck a match yet and produced grandchildren. While the fact that Hamish Donaugh had 22 potential heirs was comforting, still it made things simple if the most responsible of the male children set up his house and prepared himself to take over everything. George handled the running of things along with their father and William, the next eldest and also one of the most useless.

While not close to George, Isabella respected him. William was vacilating and weak-willed. He worried about appearances and it was safe to say that if one were on fire, he would either run around like a hen with her head cut off or stand holding the water while deciding if it was in his best interest to put the fire out.

George engaged Isabella in conversation. He heard of what had transpired earlier in the week. He did point out that she promised not to go to the cottage only, not that she would not go out at night or that Weston-Pepperell would not come there. She affirmed this but said that she saw no reason to make the situation worse by playing semantical games with their father when in a short time, she would be able to spend as much time with Beathan Weston-Pepperell as she wished. George agreed and was pleased but not surprised by her answer. He indicated that he thought that she had good sense and that she was not as selfish as their brother Charles made her out to be.

The Grand Update-February/March

12:06 pm - The trouble with Charles
Tara
Charles Donaugh caught Isabella and Beathan at his place. While he did not catch them in a state of undress, it did look as if they either were to be intimate or had been intimate. An argument ensues. Charles does not like Beathan because he sees through Charles' hypocrisy. Beathan also knows of the 'wanderings' that Charles has partaken in. Charles swears to ruin Beathan in the eyes of their parents. Beathan dares him to. Charles tries to force Isabella to go home with him, but she refuses. Beathan encourages her to return with her brother. The next morning, Isabella is called in to speak with her parents. Charles has told them and she confesses to her nightly wanderings to Beathan's cottage. Both parents are shocked to say the least. After much to and fro, Isabella informed her father that she would leave the family and be with him. Emily again calms the situation and points out as did Isabella that Beathan did intend to Strike the Match, so they need not worry about her reputation. Emmeline and the younger siblings were eavesdropping. Charles came by and she pushed him into an empty hallway. She called him a rat for what he did to Isabella and then she reminded him of his own behaviour which was far more damaging to the family reputation than Isabella's ever could be. She also told him that Isabella gave him up to their parents and that she told about his own visits to the Druid village. The Infare is still on and Isabella promised not to wander at night.

08:11 pm - The Grand Update-February
Nothing to tell, though it seems that there could be more stories with more arcs and actions. Perhaps it could be that we spend different weeks with different families or locales. I am really liking the Beathan and Isabella thing, which, due to the Hanover connections, can incorporate the gang in Edenton and the gang in Balmorwyn. Not to mention, the connections to Vivianna's people and the ladies from Greenwalls. So, that it how we are going to proceed for a bit, by focusing on specific stories and locales biweekly.

02:43 pm - More family drama with the Gurdinan clanQuesnelCharles Robertson came back to spend time with his children. He has tea with Pasha, Tatiana and Gallio. They have a nice conversation, the children just catching him up on their lives. Pasha tells about an interesting case that he has and Charles tries to remain interested in what Tatiana discovered this week while stargazing. Eugenie enters the room obviously upset. She accused her father of getting to Julian and convincing him to delay the Infare. Claire Carteret, her grandmother, got involved. She admonished Eugenie for the terrible things she said to Charles. Eugenie tried to protest but Pasha and Marielena stepped in. Marielena walked her away and tried to calm her. Charles went after Galina again for her "bad job of parenting." Claire stepped in and went after Charles, reminding him that it was Galina, her daughter that forgave him his errors and that worked hard to foster a relationship between he and his children and that but for the fact that she loved her daughter he would not be in the house. Charles became angrier and Pasha tried to calm the situation which almost got physical between Charles and Dmitri, who really never liked him. Vasily, Claire's husband stepped forward and put a stop to it all. He sent Gallio and Tatiana to their rooms. He advised Pasha to take Charles out for a walk as Pasha has recommended.
